Jute webbing and historic furniture

Beneath the fine silks and woven fabrics that adorn much of the furniture at Temple Newsam House, lie layers and layers of coarse unseen materials that provide the upholstered objects with there strength and form.

In the historic Crimson Room, an abundance of jute webbing is seen spilling out from underneath a daybed, revealing itself and asserting its own decorative presence.
